That's why we've started this baby. I'm a crazy diehard Cubs fan. I know more about them than I do just about anything else in my life, as sad as that is. I'm also a gigantic baseball fan on top of that, with a pretty good knowledge of the game or so I like to think. If I don't know baseball, then I sure as heck don't know anything.
Well the same goes for my buddy Justin Agla, who you may also recognize from the Thigh. He's a diehard Cubs fan like me that is a very knowledgeable baseball fan. Like me, his April-October(well the first week anyway sometimes!) days are usually decided by the result of the Cubs game. They get a nice win against the Cardinals? Riding high, good vibes. They get shutout by the Nationals? You might not want to talk to us the rest of that day. Again, sad, but so true.
We wanted a place where we can use what most would say is worthless knowledge, and give our take as a fan. There may be some biased opinions here and there, but we plan to make it more of a professional, realistic look on things in regards to the Cubs, and teams, players, or league news that matter to them. Surely we'll have some humor tossed in, but it's going to be a much more journalistic look on things than you might be used to seeing from us at the Thigh.
We plan to do live blogs during the games, pregame news and analysis, postgame analysis, general news regarding the team, our opinion on moves they should be interested in making, updates on prospects, and pretty much anything else that relates to the Cubs.
So hopefully if you're a Cubs fan, or even just a baseball fan, you'll keep checking back. We appreciate any sorts of suggestions, requests, or any feedback regarding this, so feel free to leave a comment on here or shoot us an e-mail at thefriendlyblogfines@gmail.com.
Hopefully the opening of the blog can spark an offense that's scored three total runs in the last five games.
