Cubs third baseman Aramis Ramirez will make his return to the starting lineup today against the St. Louis Cardinals at Wrigley Field according to Cubs.Com beat writer Carrie Muskat. The struggling veteran has not played since last Sunday in Texas due to a sore left thumb.

Ramirez received a cortisone shot yesterday and must be feeling 100%, otherwise the Cubs wouldn't rush him back into action considering the horrible slump he's been in all season. With his return and the news that Jeff Baker is cleared to play following an occular migraine yesterday, the Cubs avoided what could've been a major depth problem at third base for the weekend against the rival Redbirds.

Meanwhile, this is what the entire Cubs' lineup looks like today that will oppose Chris Carpenter:

1. Kosuke Fukudome, RF
2. Ryan Theriot, SS
3. Derrek Lee, 1B
4. Aramis Ramirez, 3B
5. Alfonso Soriano, LF
6. Marlon Byrd, CF
7. Geovany Soto, C
8. Starlin Castro, SS
9. Randy Wells, P

Game time is 2:20 PM ET, and the game can be seen on WGN.
